The News sample sale kicks off today in Soho and goes through this Saturday. This bi-annual event offers pieces from quite a number of labels, including Public School, Common Projects, Cheap Monday, Tim Coppens, Destin and the house brand, 6397.
Let me start with the footwear since that’s a huge draw here… A variety of Common Project for men and women can be had. There were flats, sneakers, ankle boots and oxfords for women priced from $150-$225. Sizing is limited as these are showroom samples – most are size 37. For men, there were Common Project sneakers, oxfords at $200. Also, limited sizing for the boys – mostly size 42.
Another draw are the Anniel shoes which are very reasonably priced at $30 for a pair/$50 for two pairs. There were a variety of ballet flats, tie-ups and snow boots.
As for clothing… they had the usual deals on Cheap Monday jeans ($10 a pop) and a bin of Cheap Monday shoes for $20. In a corner on a rack were pieces from Public School (a leather jacket was tagged at $650). Along a long wall was a large selection of Tim Coppens (a leather trimmed bomber jacket was $300 and long-sleeved knits at $150). There was also various pieces from Clu starting at $40 and Destin scarves at $80. In addition, there was more on offer this time from the house-brand, 6397 (a long wool coat was going for $300). We shot video which we hope to post later…
