Today (Wednesday) is the last day of the Montblanc sample sale at 260 Fifth Avenue. Yesterday, they began offering additional reductions. Most items are now an additional 20% off the sale, including the pens (what’s left of them). By Tuesday, the selection had thinned out. No more ball points, just a few styles of fountain pens. The cheapest that we spotted was at $428 (before the additional discount) and most expensive in the selection was $8,280 (before the markdown).
The watches are now 70% off retail and can be found at a table in the back.
The fine jewelry was in the front of the space – yellow and white gold with diamonds. Simple diamond studs were $6,756 (originally $16,890), plus take an extra 20% off. There were bracelets and rings.
Shoppers looking for stocking stuffers for the Holidays gathered at the small leather goods table where key fobs ($50) were affordable. That said, on that same table a crocodile wallet was on sale for $900. Still pricey!
There were several styles of briefcases starting at $400+. Sale ends today at 5pm.
