J.Crew is hosting sample sales at different locations in New York City. They officially kick off to the public tomorrow (Tuesday). This evening, Muskie who went to the women’s sale was impressed with the merchandise. Here’s her report:

“Let’s give a round of applause to J. Crew and 260samplesale for this season’s sale. The past few J.Crew sample sales have been a disappointment but this time around I was impressed with the offerings.

Since Madewell is having its own sample sale venue, there is definitely more space to walk and items are more spaced out at this sale.

Layout is the same as previous J. Crew sample sales. Clothes in the front on racks divided by category. Shoes in the back (up to size 10), children’s and accessories on the side wall, swim and jewelry near the register.

Merchandise is in better condition than previous sales and some handbags still have plastics/ wrappings on them

Some items look familiar but there are lots of new options and I saw pieces from this past fall and current summer pieces that are selling now.

There is something for every season. Embellished sweaters, bathing suits, puffer vest; booties, sandals, flats; cotton, silk and wool.

Both retail and factory items are available with some actual samples mixed in. There is also a sale happening online so do some research before you purchase to see where the better deal is. If you really love something grab it otherwise wait for markdowns as the week goes on.” – Mushkie
