It’s been a while – a couple of years – since the Japanese brand, pas de calais, has held a proper sample sale. This week, the Soho boutique on Broome Street is opening its door, offering deals through this Thursday, May 23rd. As usual, the merchandise is down in the basement.
Highlights include a couple of racks of actual samples (from Barneys) such as summer weight coats in linen and cotton (just under $200 and just over), iconic tops and blouses ($90) and a few dresses ($100+). Here you’ll find neutral colors such as beige, white, gray and black. Since much of these are samples, the sizing is small (or size 36). If you’re familiar with this brand though, you’ll know the pieces are meant to be worn loose so a small may be roomier than you think.
Other racks hold knits, pants and pieces from past sale. Items are as marked.
I’m told that much of the merchandise has been picked over by die-hard fans who were in line this morning before they even opened the doors. That said, there are still plenty to be had.
Besides the women’s line, men’s Sage de Cret has a few racks of linen/cotton jackets, pants and button-down shirts.
A table in the middle has a limited selection of shoes, handbags and small accessories.
