A look at some sales worth
nothing noting this week… Let’s start with the highly anticipated Alexander Wang sample sale which kicks off to the public tomorrow (Tuesday). Expect the same kind of turn out this week when the sale kicks off tomorrow. We’re told that women’s and men’s apparel and accessories from past seasons and some resort 2013 pieces will be on offer at up to 70% off retail. The IF Boutique basement sale starts
today this Wednesday in Soho. This sale tends to have a following with the avant-garde crowd who are fans of brands such as Junya Watanabe (Commes des Garçons), Dries Van Noten, Maison Martin Margiela and more. We’ll be heading there at some point this week. In the meantime, you can check out our findings from last season (click HERE) where some previous items were at 90% off retail. Expect to find current season goods at around 50-70% off. Where/When: IF Soho New York, 94 Grand Street (b/w Mercer & Greene ), NY, NY; Aug 19-21-25; Daily (11am-7pm).
This Thursday, the Barneys Warehouse Sale will kick off at a new location – the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. This is a departure to the previous sale and a return to the original sale in that the merchandise will reportedly be all menswear. Nothing for the ladies this time. Where/When: Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th Street, NY, NY; Aug 22-Sept 2; Thurs-Fri (8am-9pm), Sat – Sun (10am-8pm), Mon Sept 2n (10am-7pm).
Later this week, the Sachin + Babi sample sale will offer shoppers up to 80% off retail on production pieces. Where/When: 225 W. 39th Street, 4th Floor, NY, NY; Aug 21-22; Thurs and Fri (9am-5pm).
