Morgane Le Fay  – known for its flowing gowns and feminine dresses – is hosting a sample sale in Soho through Sunday. There’s plenty of merchandise, mostly stock.  The current spring/summer merchandise is at 70-percent off retail and past season fall is at 80-percent.

However, the best deals here are the samples… that is if you can find them.  The one-of-a-kind pieces are mixed into the racks with stock.  Rare, but if you have time, it’s well worth digging.  (One of our readers told us that she had to look at nearly 100 tags before she spotted a sample).

I found tanks and a tee going for $25 and dresses at $100.  You can tell that a piece is a sample by the tag – plain white with the price typed in.  It probably would have been better if organizers put all the samples on separate racks…

As for the production pieces, here’s the pricing of a few items that caught my eye: a grey cotton voile dress was going for $252 (was $840); a classic black silk dress is now $359 (was $1,180); a lace shift dress is $410 (was $1,040); ballgowns $1080 (were $3600); a silk organza top is now priced at $288 (was $1,150), a rack of plan knit tunics are now $86 (were $430); wool coats tagged at $282 (were $940); and a few boxes filled with footwear – satin Mary Janes were $142 (was $475). There was also one handbag at $100.

Apparently, they will not be offering further discounts on the last days of the sale…
