Maria Cornejo has teamed up with the Repetto showroom to host a two-day sample sale in Soho.  First off, there’s not much Repetto footwear left when I checked out the sale late in the day Wednesday.  They looked like the leftovers from the previous Repetto sale earlier this month.

As for the Zero + Maria Cornejo, there were racks of actual samples and previous season merchandise starting at $50. The selection was spotty and so was the sizing.  I saw knits (pullover sweaters, tanks, cardigans), some dresses, skirts and pants.  As mentioned, they’re samples  so some of the pieces were damaged (holes and rips) so make sure you look carefully before buying.

Pricing is set up by colored dots:   hot pink = $50; dark blue = $75, green = $100, light blue = $150 and so on (see the photo of the color code pricing).  A number of sweaters did catch my eye but they weren’t in my size.  I noticed more mediums and larges, size 6 and above.  In my opinion, the really nice stuff (such as signature Cornejo asymmetrical silk dresses and skirts, embellished tops, wool coats, cashmere dresses) was a bit more pricey falling into the $300 price range.  A limited selection of Cornejo footwear was also up for grabs.  I was tempted into walking out with a pointed-toe black leather mule going for $150.  But my toes just didn’t quite peak out enough of the peep-toe.  There’s also a rack of pieces from Alexander McQueen, Lanvin and Rick Owens were going for 80 percent off the retail price.  Sale ends tomorrow.

Where/When:  Repetto Showroom, 84 Wooster St. #604 (near Spring St).  April 27 and April 28.  Wed (11-7p). Thurs (11-5p).
