Lemlem, founded by Liya Kebede (Supermodel/actress and former World Health Organisation’s Goodwill Ambassador), offers hand-woven cotton scarves, women’s clothing and children’s dresses made by traditional artisans in Liya’s native country of Ethiopia.

Just today from 11am-7pm, Lemlem is hosting a sample sale at its Soho showroom on Broadway north of Broome.

The sale items can be found in the main section of the airy showroom. The merchandise is  hanging on racks, folded on tables or in bargain bins.

Available are quite a number of the label’s signature pieces, most of which are tagged at $100 and under. Highlights include tops/tunics ($65), dresses ($100) and pants ($65) in the hand-woven stripes which the brand is known for.

If you’re already looking ahead to fall, there are a number of ponchos at $125 a piece.

In the middle of the area, are bargain bins containing scarves ($50) and men’s Soludos ($25).

All styles are out. If you don’t see your size, just ask a helpful staffer and she’ll look for it.

There are no dressing rooms just a mirror for those willing to strip down to try things on.

Joining Lemlem is Ariel Gordon’s fine jewelry made in Los Angeles. Some nice delicate pieces here in 14k gold and sterling silver. We spotted basic gold rings ($175), diamond pave rings ($895), gold bracelets ($435), diamond studs ($315) and basic gold studs ($95). There were also deals on sterling silver necklaces starting at $20.

As we mentioned earlier, the sale is just for today… doors close at 7pm.
