The last day of the Brunello Cucinelli sale offers some real savings on the label’s high-end high-priced high-quality pieces. But at this point it’s not a surprise that the merchandise is pretty much picked through.  There were quite a few shoppers looking through the racks this morning. Men’s and women’s are sectioned off to separate parts of the large room. There’s really not a lot of merchandise left so the room looked weirdly empty.

Let me start with the women’s stuff. There were a number of racks of cashmere and cotton knits, including sweaters such as short-sleeved cashmere knits for $299 (was $1,495), cashmere long-sleeved sweaters at $259 ( was $1,295)). The bottoms are a great deal now (basic pants & skirts now priced at $70).  I also spotted light weight coats (a simple elegant rain coat in stone for $475, retailed for $2,375).  Sizing is limited.

For men, there were blazers, some button up shirts ($93), pants ($90) and polos.  I also spotted a few soft light-weight wool pullovers for $129 (was $645).

As for footwear, there really wasn’t much left… just wedge sandals for $181 (was $905), strappy heels for $159 (was $765) and brogues at $233 (was $1,165).  I also saw a great hobo handbag for $540 (was $2,700). But it was so scuffed that it wasn’t worth considering.  There were also quite a few knitted handbags for $360 (was $1,800).  Interesting design thought, but not very practical.  Sale ends today at 5pm…
