In Soho today, two more J. Crew sales are taking place – a one for men’s merchandise and another for Madewell. We went to the Madewell preview yesterday evening. The large space was filled with tons of stuff.
The tops/blouses ($25) are situated in the front across from the cash registers, along the sides are skirts ($40), then you’ll find racks stuffed with dresses ($60). The shoes/sandals ($65) are found in the back.
Across the room are various outerwear ($60), casual cotton pants ($25), denim ($40), sweaters/knits ($35-$60), T-shits and more.
Mixed in are actual samples and what appeared to be original Madewell garments from New Bedford, Massachusetts.
As for sizing, it’s really mixed. But I did notice a lot of size 6 which could be the brand’s sample size.
Other stuff include scarves ($20), handbags ($45 for fabric/leather trim totes, leather clutches at $90, large bags at $130). There’s also jewelry in glass cases near the registers – necklaces are $20, earrings and bracelets at $15.
There are no dressing rooms so be prepared if you’re planning to try on any of the clothing.
Where/When: 151 Wooster Street (south of Houston). June 23-28; Tues-Sat (10am-8pm), Sun (11am-5pm).
