The IF Boutique in Soho known for its unparalleled collection of avant-garde clothing for both men and women is holding a sale this week offering up to 70 percent off fall/winter current and past season merchandise.

The sale is literally in the basement of the store.  Once you take the stairs down, you’ll find racks of clothing on sale.  Just like the store’s sale back in August, there was tons of clothing from edgy Danish designer, Ivan Grundahl at pretty good deals (some of the pieces looked like repeats from the past sale):  jackets (many were under $200), sweaters for under $200, bottoms at under $150 and some tops under $100.  A rack with Comme des Garçons pieces were up for grabs:  a shirt was going for $392, a red plaid long coat for $925, a long sweater for $258.  I noticed many customers stopping to look at the pieces on this rack.  A Comme navy cardigan ($256) did catch my eye but I wasn’t sure whether the quilted padding in the front of the sweater would make me look a bit too lumpy.  A Dries Van Noten silk blazer was just over $300.  A Martin Margiela black leather motorcycle jacket was tagged at $900.  Blayde tops and knits for under $300.  Not as much for men at this sale, just a couple of racks.  There was also a mix of footwear for both men and women… Martin Margiela sling-backs were under $200.  There were leather bags on offer, mostly by Ivan Grundahl.  Sale ends this Sunday.

Where/When: 94 Grand St., nr. Mercer St. (212-334-4964); Thru February 7 to 13th. M–S (11–7), Su (noon–6:30).
