At 930am, a line formed outside the Elie Tahari sample sale near Bryant Park.  The label’s fans had turned out on the first day of the sale.  Women waited patiently to see what kind of deals were inside. The sale is offering up to 80 percent off original prices.  I did a quick sweep this morning after waiting in line for about 30 minutes.  I found plenty of knits ($19-$29); blouses, skirts and pants ($59); jackets/blazers ($99); leather coats ($279); coats ($199-$249).  As for men, there were only three racks of shirts ($39-$49), pants ($49), jackets ($99) and coats ($149-$199).  For the complete price list, see the photos below.

Most of these items are actual samples.  That means sizes are limited.  I noticed mostly size 4 and 6.  Also, beware:   some of the garments are damaged – I found rips or holes on some knitwear and sweaters.

The footwear section drew a large crowd this morning where women’s shoes could be had from $79 (ballet flats) to $99 (sexy platform sandals, strappy heels and pumps).  I was told by a sales associate that all the shoes had been put out.  Too bad since it was already going fast, just two hours into the sale.  Also on offer were a variety of handbags from $79 for small bags, $179 for medium handbags and $249 for the large ones.  Let us know if you happen to stop by and whether you end up getting anything…
