NYC-based brand, Matta, is hosting it’s first sample sale in five years, offering loads of merchandise for women with a mix of past season pieces to actual samples – many one-of-a-kind that never made it into production. Made from natural fibers and produced in India, Christina Gitti designs simple, loose and flowing style clothing.
The sale starts today at Noon at Apropo Studio on West 24th Street. Thanks to Matta staffers for allowing us to check out the offerings yesterday while they were still setting up. The sale takes place in an area in the right side of the showroom as you get off the elevator on the fourth floor.
There’s a lot to choose from here so take your time. You may feel overwhelmed with all of the merchandise on hand. Set aside some time to go through the racks. Items are organized by style on racks, shelves and boxes. There are all sort of dresses and blouses in so many different color-ways. Pricing is really good – dresses are just $40 for silk and $30 for cotton. The blouses are only $30. There are lots of unique pieces as well as the brand’s classics that rarely ever go on sale. Other deals are sandals which are a steal for $10 as are the cotton pants and handbags for $15-$20.
If you’re looking for Matta’s signature colorful Dupatta scarves, you’ll find them in a corner ranging in price from $60-$95. There’s still a few more weeks of summer left and this is the perfect place to spruce up your wardrobe.
