If you’re looking for office work appropriate clothing, you can head over to the Elie Tahari sample sale, which is being held near Bryant Park.  Laura Baumgartner checked out the offerings.  She gives us her report along with some photos before sale organizers made her put her camera away:

I headed over to 42nd and 5th to check out the Elie Tahari sale. The sale is on the second floor of 501 Fifth Avenue. Tahari is known for classic, refined work appropriate pieces and their sale definitely reflected that.

The bag check is quick and well organized. Once inside you will find multicolor silk blouses for $59, a decent selection of shift dresses for $99 in black and in patterns. There are dressier items including a long black coat with a lace overlay for $99.  More expensive pieces include leather blazers in black and grey for $279 and a basic black fur vest for $279 as well. There is a large selection of conservative shoes including cute brown clogs for $99 and black patent leather kitten heels for $69. Next to shoes, there are a number of bags including large hobos for $199 and small evening clutches in metallic hues for $129.

In the back room of the sale, you’ll find lots of women’s suit jackets for $79 with plain black suit pants for as low as $39. There are also some fun skirts for $59 but the sizes are limited. There is a small men’s selection only occupying 2 racks.
