Yesterday, sale prices were slashed further at the Barneys Warehouse Sale.  Take an extra 50 percent off women’s designer items with the “red” stamp (75% off WHSF stamped items); women’s ready-to-wear is now 50 percent off; women’s shoes is also an additional 40 percent off (BLUE stamped footwear is an extra 60% off).

Let’s start with women’s footwear… at this point in the sale, the selection is spotty.  But I did see shoes that weren’t there a few days ago so organizers are restocking.  I spotted a few shoes with the “blue” stamp, including suede platform Balenciagas, Jil Sander flats, Lanvins.  As for the regular footwear, there were still a few Marni platforms, Manolo flat sandals, Chloe flat sandals, Loub mesh pumps, Robert Clergerie sandals, Pierre Hardy flats, Rochas mesh flats and tons of Barneys Coop footwear.  There’s tons of shoes on offer but be prepared to look.  Selection is pretty much picked over.  I didn’t see anything I loved.

Same story for clothing… spotty selection.  You’ll find a rack of Jil Sander pieces (lots of white – pants and jackets), Ann Demeulemeester summer pieces (also plenty of white), a smattering of Balenciaga (some dresses in the four figures but I did spot a black dress for under $400), a few Lanvin silk dresses and summer weight bottoms and jackets, some Prada are left but nothing exciting.  I was a bit disappointed this time around with the designer merchandise.  As for RTW, the selection is thinning but there are still some dresses, tops and bottoms to be had.  And denim is plentiful at an extra 60 percent off.

Are these discounts deep enough for you?  We wonder how much more sale organizers will take off by this weekend.  Women’s designer went down to 60 percent off at last winter’s sale.  But summer 2009 the discounts were an extra 75 percent off.  Sale ends on Labor Day.
