The frigid temperature is making us want to find cozy warm sweaters to keep us warm. Yesterday evening, we check out the offerings at Clothingline in the Garment District. While the sub-freezing temps kept many shoppers away, there were a few hardcore deal hounds.
A number of brands have joined forces but it’s the pieces from Cashmere Project that we focus on. We have a report from Discount Di:
“Nothing like a brutal cold snap to get you excited about cashmere. I was ready to pile it on when I stumbled into Clothingline sale Wednesday night. Not only were there plenty of racks packed with soft sweaters, but the cold kept the crowds at bay.
Up for grabs were lots and lots of items from The Cashmere Project. The front table had boxes of cute hats (stripes, solids and pom-poms) and fingerless gloves for $30, regularly $116. They had plenty of scarves and snoods for $40, (retail about $120)
There was a variety of ponchos in varied colors and styles for $80, (retail about $300); cardigans, pullovers and robes for $60-$80 (retail $225-$335) I picked up a navy blue, swing cardigan ($70), a black crewneck ($60) and a soft cappuccino bottleneck ($60). I’m so glad. My commute today was nice and toasty.
There were a few racks for men, and a whole half room devoted to non-cashmere items like leather jackets and other knitwear. All in all, good quality items for great prices. Go when it’s crazy cold for the most elbow room!” – Discount Di
