In a raw space on Fifth Avenue at 54th Street (689 5th Ave, 9th Floor), Brunello Cucinelli has set up for a sample sale. It’s really an overstock sale since there’s a range of merchandise in varying sizes.
This is a no fuss sale. No dressing rooms and hardly any sales staff to help. If you’re already a Brunello customer then you might find the markdowns worth it. If not, the pricing maybe too much for you.
We stopped into the space on Thursday when the discount was at 70% off the retail price (that’s down from 60% off when the sale started on Monday. Tomorrow is the last day so it’s conceivable that they would offer further reductions.
When we stopped in, there was plenty of merchandise for both men and women. They include apparel, handbags, shoes and other accessories. There was even a small selection of jewelry and home goods near the register.
Sizing is spotty. We noticed that there wasn’t a huge amount of small sizes of clothing for women.
As for pricing, examples include a cashmere dress for $868.50 (was $2,895), an iconic BC linen blazer for $1,348.50 (was $4,495), a basic cashmere l/s pullover for $298.50 (was $995), sandals at $269.40 (was $895) and a Brunello Cucinelli wrap necklace for $599.70 (was $1,995).
Sale ends today, June 7th at 5pm. If you happen to stop in, we’d love to hear from you!
