Just in time for the summer, you can stock up on basic tees and dresses at the James Perse sample sale which opens to the public and goes through this Sunday.

I went looking for T-shirts ($30, orig. $85-$125) in white and black which they had plenty of in small and medium sizes. But make sure to inspect the garments carefully – some were damaged with tiny holes, snags, discoloration and makeup stains.

Pricing is pretty much the same as past James Perse sample sales. There were dresses for $70; highlights include the long caftan and the cami-dresses which are originally $245. Also on hand are long-sleeved tees ($40), tanks ($20), pants ($60), sweaters ($90) and a limited selection of footwear (from $40-$249). No more Birkenstocks for women, just men.

In addition, there were random collection items for both men and women. The offerings for women included a sweater jacket (made of a merino/angora blend) which retailed starting at $550 and is on sale for $150.

The athletic wear was in the back. Home furnishings such as cashmere blankets ($399) and shams ($199) were also on offer.

There were separate makeshift dressing room for men and women.
