We stopped into the Hermes Sale at Soiffer Haskin to see for ourselves whether it’s worth going to. The answer to that depends on what you’re looking for and how much you’re willing to spend.
As most other blogs already reported, the popular items coveted at this sale aren’t on offer. So if you’re looking for handbags, scarves, jewelry, you’re out of luck.
Clothing & Shoes for Just 50% off the Retail Price
They do have plenty of clothing for both men and women and shoes. The discount is only at 50% off the original retail price. We’re told that the markdown won’t change even on the last day which is tomorrow (Saturday).
We found lots of shoes left in a range of sizes. Sandals starting at $300 (orig. $600) to knee high leather boots at $1,025 (orig. $2,050).
As for clothing, we saw racks upon racks of stuff arranged by size, including leather skirts for $2,000 (orig. $4,000+), leather jackets at $4,000 (orig. $8,000+), silk printed dresses at $1,500 (orig. $3,000), sweaters mixed with silk prints for $1,500 (orig. $3,000). In the back are sweaters such as a plain cashmere turtleneck for $900 (orig. $1,800) and cardigan for $1,050 (orig. $2,100). Depends on how much you’re willing to fork out… these prices were a bit too high for us.
