The doors were suppose to open at 8:30 this morning for the Elie Tahari sample sale near Bryant Park.  But an hour later, shoppers were still waiting outside.  Some of them had been in line for nearly two hours.  Needless to say, many of them were losing patience.

I spent a few minutes and had to go… However, a friend of ours stopped in before lunch and managed to get a few photos, including the price list.

Clothing and accessories for both men and women are up to 70% off the retail price.  Items include:  Handbags now $79-$249 (was $228-$898); Shoes now $79-$129 (was $198-$498); Dresses now $99-$129 (was $198-$448); Womens pants now $59 (was $148-$248); blouses now $59 (was $168-$298); Jackets now $99 (was $248-$448).  Men’s items include sweaters at $69 (was $198-$398); pants now $49 (was $198-$248); Blazers now $99 (was $389-$498); coats now $140-$199 (was $348-$598).
