The sale was hopping with shoppers when I stopped by after work on Wednesday. Many of the women were on a quest to find something for the season or a special occasion. I overheard one woman tell her friend she was looking for a dress for a cocktail party. This was the place to find it. The showroom was well stocked with clothing by New York City based fashion designer Julie Haus and Gustto handbags (a line created by French designer Agathe Planchon).
On offer were mostly spring/summer dresses that were intricately tailored using feminine fabrics ($40 for samples to well under $200 for some of the current spring/summer collection). There were also a few spring coats, tops, skirts and pants for the taking. In addition, you could find some one-of-a-kind merchandise and production pieces. The Gustto handbags in all sorts of colors – just right for the season – ranged in price from $200-$400.
The two designers, Haus and Planchon, were at the showroom tonight helping customers. Haus seen below is giving advice to a shopper who is trying to decide whether a dress compliments her.
