The News Showroom in Soho is hosting its bi-annual sample sale this week. The showroom represents a number of brands including Common Projects, Tim Coppens, Clu, Officine Generale, Sleepy Jones and more. We go to this sale primarily for the women’s footwear (Common Projects).

Before we get to that… we want to point out a new brand which caught our eye at this season’s sale. It’s Kari Sigerson’s (of Sigerson Morrison) new label, Alumnae and the first full collection (Spring 2016) is on offer here. Clean and understated women’s shoes, all made in Italy. As you can see from the main picture above and the gallery below, the collection consists of wearable flats in basic, neutral and a few pops of color made of calf hair and patent leather. These shoes are only $150 (orig. $400-$600). But the catch is they’re showroom samples – which means they’re all available only in size 7.

Another label worth mentioning here is Protagonist, modern classic pieces that are priced as marked below wholesale. There were also lots of denim from the house brand, 6397 and more. Pieces for these ranged in price from $10 tees and $20 jeans and $150 jumpsuits and dresses. These brands can be found at the Soho concept boutique, The Apartment By The Line.

As for the Common Project footwear, there was very little available for men ($175) but a bit more on offer for women ($50-$150), including slip-on sneakers, heels, ankle boots and sandals.

In addition, you’ll find pieces from Tim Coppens where jackets were $195, pants at $75 and sweaters $130. And lots of other deals from Officine Generale, luxury PJs from Sleepy Jones, Clu and more.

Where/When: 495 Broadway (north of Broome Street). May 19-21; Daily (10am-6pm).
