As we enter February… retailers are wrapping up their end-of-season sales and making room for new merchandise. Wednesday’s warm weather was a nice reminder that spring is just ahead of us. I took the opportunity to check out the deals at the Park Slope Bird location. It was no surprise that sale items are pretty much picked over.   Image via Bird The winter sale at Brooklyn’s chain boutique, Bird, just got better… We just got notice that Bird’s fall/winter 2011 merchandise is now up to 75-percent off the original retail price.
I don’t usually post about sales in Los Angeles… but in this case, I’m making an exception because this one looks like it could be a hit. Here are the details:

Last night, a pretty good turn out at the Designer Maria Cornejo’s (above) Noho shop. She and photographer Mark Borthwick were on hand signing T-shirts ($150). There were also Polaroids by Borthwick on sale for $300. All the proceeds from the sale will be going to Doctors Without Borders to help [...]
The Nolita boutique Creatures of Comfort is holding a blowout sale this weekend, offering up to 90 percent off indie faves, including Acne, Christian Wijnants, Rachel Comey, Bernhard Willhelm, Henrik Vibskov, Wren and more… Sample Sale Diva checked out that sale after hitting up the James Perse sale yesterday. Here’s her report:
The latest markdowns at the Barneys Warehouse Sale brought out the crowds over the weekend to Chelsea. Women’s designer, shoes, lingerie and swimwear are now an additional 25 percent off the sale price. The gents are getting a better deal with the discount now at an extra 40 percent off designer duds, sportswear, outerwear (including leather). Men’s sportscoats, tuxedos and ties are at an additional 25 percent off. We stopped in on Saturday to find no line but a very crowded scene inside… with shoppers pawing through the racks and shoe stacks. The sale ends on Sunday… expect even more reductions. Through Sunday, Zero + Maria Cornejo is offering final markdowns on its fall/winter 2010 collection. We stopped into the Bleecker Street store in Noho the other day find plenty of merchandise going for 50 to 70 percent off.
