Items on sale are 40-to-75 percent off the highly coveted VPL lingerie, ready-to-wear pieces and shoes. We’re told that undies are starting at $15, all swim is $20 and sweaters are starting at $50. For just two days, VPL designer Victoria Bartlett is hosting a one-of-a-kind vintage sale at her boutique on Mercer Street in Soho. Wednesday night, Victoria was gracious in allowing me a sneak peek at the pieces up for grabs at the so-called Vintage Affair. I took photos of the merchandise as well as the designer herself as she was pricing the garments.
I don’t know about you, but it’s been really tough trying to keep up with all the sample sales this week.  Another one worth checking out this weekend is the VPL sample sale where designer Victoria Bartlett’s coveted underthings and luxe RTW are discounted up to 75 percent off.
The sale this time around at Project No. 8 was not as good as the one back in August (when we shot video). I came into the boutique before they closed and was disappointed to find just several racks of clothing and a few bins on the floor (contained wool short scarves at $40). The shoe selection was also limited to Maison Martin Margiela shoes (many of which looked like repeats from the summer sale) starting at $80 for pumps to over $300 for shearling booties.
While many of us are waiting for the Barneys Warehouse Sale, this weekend’s end-of-season sale being held at the boutiques, Project No. 8 and No. 8b, is well worth the trip. I checked out the goods yesterday and found some fabulous deals. The women’s shop, Project No. 8, carries [...] 
Last night, I surveyed the deals for VPL‘s sample sale which starts today at Noon. VPL (visible panty line) is a collection of hip undergarment-inspired styles – pieces that bridge the gap between underwear and sportswear. The label’s fans will find plenty of signature pieces at up to 70 [...] |
