A few notable sample sales this week in New York City… The first is Heike Jarick’s sample sale where pieces from the spring/summer collection are up to 85% off retail. The German born designer is known for her unusual and luxurious fabric choices.

eM Productions kicks off its annual summer sample sale today featuring quite a number of labels, including ACE & JIG, the French ready-to-wear line, IRO, the Australian-based Something Else, the Los Angeles based brand, Wren and more. I stopped into the showroom yesterday for their friends & family preview. I must say, it’s a huge space filled with lots of merchandise (all women’s stuff).

The soft comfy knits (perfect for lounging) by Ella Moss & Splendid were up for grabs this morning at their Garment District showroom. Apparently, there was a line before the sample sale started at 9 this morning. But when I got there 15-minutes after they opened the doors, it was all clear. When you enter the space, you’ll need to check your bag before shopping.

The small Soho showroom where the Candela sample sale is being held was fairy busy on Tuesday afternoon. Many of the shoppers here appeared to be familiar with brand. A few of them held piles of dresses while others tried on shoes. Pricing was pretty good. There were even bargain bins for footwear starting at $5. A couple of women were intently going through those boxes but I didn’t see any takers. The selection was fairly limited and the merchandise looked as if they’d seen better days. At $50 for a pair of sandals/flats, you’re better off sticking to the production footwear. There was a variety of styles, including the Lolli wedge which a couple of shoppers were slipping on and the Dimitri sandal. Boots are a tad bit more priced at $70.
