I went into the Lower East Side boutique, Project No. 8, Thursday evening thinking it was just another summer sample sale until I overheard the store manager speaking with one of her customers saying that the shop was closing for good… What a shame. Stores come and go but this one will be missed.
As a final farewell, Project No. 8 is hosting a blowout sale through this Saturday, offering 50 to 90 percent off its goods past and current season. 
The sale this time around at Project No. 8 was not as good as the one back in August (when we shot video). I came into the boutique before they closed and was disappointed to find just several racks of clothing and a few bins on the floor (contained wool short scarves at $40). The shoe selection was also limited to Maison Martin Margiela shoes (many of which looked like repeats from the summer sale) starting at $80 for pumps to over $300 for shearling booties.
While many of us are waiting for the Barneys Warehouse Sale, this weekend’s end-of-season sale being held at the boutiques, Project No. 8 and No. 8b, is well worth the trip. I checked out the goods yesterday and found some fabulous deals. The women’s shop, Project No. 8, carries [...] |
