The Scoop Warehouse Sale goes for another couple of weeks, giving us plenty of time to check it out. Fashionable Femme Jen stopped in over the weekend. She reports on a pretty good selection of high-end designer goods, except for the handbags…
“A Sunday afternoon stroll in Soho brought me towards the Scoop Warehouse sale. Unlike its sister store in the Meatpacking District, this Scoop store seems to have a decent designer sale selection. Here’s a snippet of the women’s offerings.
As we mentioned yesterday… the Shoe-Inn Warehouse Sale is taking place through this Monday in the Garment District. Discount Di who was looking for a pair of boots checked it out yesterday after work. Here’s what she found:
“I stopped into the Shoe-Inn warehouse sale at Gotham Hall and was really pleased at the selection. I had my eye out for some flat leather boots and the tables were full of them ranging in price from $50 to $150.
Strolling around Soho on Saturday, we happened upon a few boutique sales worth noting… The markdown at the Marc Jacobs boutique on Mercer Street is now at 70% off retail on its fall/winter collection. I quickly surveyed the couple of racks and found dresses, a few coats and a handful of chunky sweaters. Plus, a few pairs of shoes. No sale handbags in sight. But if you’ve been eyeing some items from the current collection, it’s worth checking out.
Through the weekend, you can shop for a cause at the Housing Works thrift shop in Chelsea where you’ll find 250 designer brands sold at charitable prices. Last night, we attended the benefit reception at the Altman Building. Despite the storm, Fashion for Action’s co-chair Patricia Clarkson and other celebs turned out to give their support. We shot video of the event, which we’ll post later today…

Snow didn’t stop stylists, celebrities and shoppers from turning out for tonight’s Fashion for Action charity fundraiser and sale preview event. Shoppers sip on cocktails and munch on hors d’oeuvres while browsing discounted designer items. Money raised will go to help New Yorkers living with AIDS. As an added bonus, 20% of the proceeds will benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
As summer comes to an end… Scoop NYC has decided to clean out it’s closets and hosting a sale. Our hardworking roving reviewer, Fashionable Femme Jen, checked out the offerings yesterday. Jen found lots of goods and a mix of designers at mostly 50% off retail. Here’s her report:
With the rainy weather and sluggish start to the work week, I stopped by the Scoop ultimate clean out sale looking to brighten an otherwise dreary day. Boasting discounts of up to 85% off, I brave the rain and trek to the West side during lunch to see what bargains there are to be had. At around 12:30, only a few shoppers are milling inside and a large production trailer is blocking the storefront.
For me, the Barneys Warehouse Sale has been a bust so far! I stopped into the Chelsea space again last night after a friend wanted me to accompany her. We headed first to the women’s designer section since I already surveyed and reviewed shoes on the first day. Just two days into the sale… and already the selection was seriously depleted and lacking. We spent a few minutes digging through and saw nothing really special. I’m not surprised since my findings on the first day were pretty disappointing.
