Saks Fifth Avenue Consolidation Sale: Further Discounts Make it 70% Off

This week, the high-end retailers are entering final markdowns to their end-of-season sales.  The Saks Fifth Avenue gathered its inventory and began its highly-popular consolidation sale today.  Fellow shopper, Laura, went into the store this afternoon and took a look:

I headed over to the Saks consolidation sale (on the 9th floor at Saks through  February 12th) to see just how tempting  70% percent discounts could be.  Today was the first full day of the sale and the goods already looked stale and picked over.

Barneys End-of-Season Sale… now at up to 75% off

I received the alert today that the Barneys markdown is now up to 75-percent off on “select” fall/winter merchandise.  My question is:  on what?!  After work, I made my way over to the Madison Avenue store, just to see what actually was discounted and by how much?

Scoop Summer Blow Out Sale in the MePa

Maybe I’m just not in the mood for shopping for summer things now that we’re headed into fall… but I didn’t really see much I liked at the Scoop “closet clean out” sale in the Meat Packing District (except for Sigerson Morrison suede boots for $129 – only available in size 6).

The store on the corner of W. 14th and Washington Street is full of merchandise (two floors worth) for both men and women.  Although, there’s more for the ladies.  Most of the shoes and handbags are downstairs, while a few are on display on the main floor, where most of the better clothing selection can be had.  There’s also a dressing room downstairs.  Everything is an additional 50-percent off the sale price.

Further Markdowns on Designer Consignment Goods at INA

The high-end consignment shop, INA, is offering additional discounts of 25 percent off the already marked down goods through the weekend.

I stumbled on the additional reductions yesterday at the location on Bleecker Street in Noho.  Items with the extra discount have a red dotted sticker.   Not many of the shoes were additionally marked down but I did spot quite a few designer dresses, tops and denim such as (after the discount):  a Stella McCartney dress for $122, Jill Stuart dress at $72,  See by Chloe tunic for $94, a Missoni top for $88, a Prada top for $225 and a linen Chanel dress tagged at $524.  There were also a few handbags such as a Marc Jacobs bag for $175, and a Fendi tote for $123.

Final Days & Further Markdowns at the Barneys Summer Sale…

Yesterday, Barneys began it’s final reductions for the summer before its Warehouse Sale which is due to take place next month…  Sale prices for selected items have now been slashed down to 75 percent off retail.  Yesterday, I checked out the store on Madison Avenue to find out what was left since not everything is online.  I concentrated on shoes and handbags because a girl can’t get enough of both…at least this girl!

VIDEO: Barneys Warehouse Sale…A look at women’s shoes

I ventured into the Barneys Warehouse Sale before noon today just to scope out the goodies.  I rarely ever buy anything on the first day.  I usually wait for the additional markdowns to take out my wallet.  I found no line when I arrived.  I came with a small bag so [...]

Marc Jacobs Markdowns at 70 percent in Soho

As Madison Avenue Spy mentioned earlier this week, the Marc Jacobs store on Mercer Street has now marked down fall and winter shoes and clothing to 70 percent off.  I stopped into the Soho store last night to check out the offerings.  A couple of racks of items were up for grabs a limited selection of dresses are $300 and up, wool & tweed coats $500 and up, sweaters are $200 and up.  As for footwear, there wasn’t much left – a handful of flats ($200+), a couple of heels and a few boots $300 and up.  For me, the sale prices were still a bit pricey.  In the past, the boutique has offered markdowns at 90 percent off the retail price. That’s when I’ve bought several pairs of shoes and a few tops and bottoms.  Now that’s a great deal… check out the store later this month when they might be offering that deal.

The Shoe-Inn’s Massive Warehouse Sale… so-so selection.

Through Thursday, the Shoe-Inn is hosting it’s annual warehouse sale in the Garment District where thousands of shoes and boots are up for grabs. In previous years, the sale has had a wide selection of designer footwear. However, when I stopped in late yesterday (the first day of the sale), I wasn’t impressed with what I found.  I started with the boot section. While they had plenty on offer, I didn’t spot any gems.

I did see DVF and Michael Kors suede knee high boots, Marc by Marc Jacobs ankle boots, Pucci snow boots, See by Chloe, Stuart Weitzman, Via Spiga and Roberto del Carlo leather boots. For me, nothing stood out. The same goes for the shoe selection.  All boots range in price from $39.99-$199.99, all shoes are $19.99-$99.99.
