As we enter February… retailers are wrapping up their end-of-season sales and making room for new merchandise. Wednesday’s warm weather was a nice reminder that spring is just ahead of us. I took the opportunity to check out the deals at the Park Slope Bird location. It was no surprise that sale items are pretty much picked over.
With cooler temperatures ahead, it’s about time to stock up on warm woolie sweaters… I figured I’d see what knits designer Marcia Patmos had to offer. A sample sale is being held at her showroom in the MePa District where fall merchandise on her main label, M. Patmos and sister line, Leroy & Perry are up to 70-percent off.
This may be the last sample sale for designing duo, Tina Lutz and Marcia Patmos. The design team are calling it quits this fall after a ten-year run. Their large space in the MePa district Tuesday evening was busy but not too crowded. Lots of fans looking to find some deals.
Here you’ll find lots of sweaters (including plenty of cashmere), knits and accessories. The sweaters appeared to be the big draw: cashmere and cashmere blend are $150, cotton knits are $50. There were bins containing scarves & hats (ranging in price from $40 to $75, and $150 for fur). Also up for grabs were silk tops for $50 and dresses for $100. Plus, bins with thermal and silk turtlenecks for $30. Mixed in were some samples. I spotted a great crochet tank top for $30. Most of the merchandise on offer were from the main Lutz & Patmos line but there were items from their sister brand, “Leroy & Perry.”
