The Jil Sander sample sale ends tomorrow… we hear that the lines have died down. Hoping to finally see what the selection was like, I headed over there yesterday (Wednesday). I made it to the door on Crosby Street after 5pm only to find out that they had closed early! I wasn’t the only one there trying to gain access, there were a few others who also couldn’t believe they stopped allowing shoppers inside.
Images from the Jil Sander sample sale have come out… one of our tipsters has sent us a few photos from the preview, which took place on Monday. She reports seeing pieces from the women’s and men’s spring 2012 and pre-fall 2012 collection.

A busy week for sample sales in New York City… Here’s a few notable ones you may want to check out:
Starting tomorrow, the Jil Sander showroom downtown on Crosby Street is opening its doors for a sample sale which will likely feature pieces from Raf Simons last collection with the brand (Fall 2012). Expect to find items from both the women and men’s collections, including handbags and shoes. Think pastels – a palette of blush pink, coffee, and pale gray dominated the collection. Typically, the discount is 80-85% off retail. Click HERE to see our report of last season’s sale. We do plan on hitting the sale at some point this week – stay tuned for our findings. Where/When: 8 Crosby St, 4th floor, NY, NY; April 16-19; Daily (10am-6pm), Doors close at 5:30pm. Note: This time, they’re instituting a One Hour shopping limit due to the long wait in the past.

This is your last chance on deals at the Jil Sander sample sale in Soho. The doors at the Crosby Street showroom close at 3:30pm today. Yesterday, they began slashing sale prices. Apparently, most of the merchandise was at 85% off retail and some of our readers commented that they scored on a few things and found merchandise they didn’t see earlier in the week. There’s even better news… we hear that this last day will bring the best discount with everything allegedly going down to 90% off retail. If any of you make it down there today, let us know what you find…
I’ve been going to the Jil Sander sample sale for quite a number of seasons now. In the past, I’ve had to spend a couple of hours waiting in line on the first official day of the sale. This time, I managed to make it into Monday’s preview. I must say what a difference! No line and the space was calm, except for a handful of shoppers.
A couple of noteworthy sales upcoming later this month… the first, one of my fave brands and sample sales takes place next week. We got word from the folks at Jil Sander that they’ll be hosting a sample sale starting next Tuesday. Another chance at getting your hands on designer Raf Simons creations at a fraction of the cost. Be forewarned, the sale does draw a huge crowd where fans are willing to wait hours. On the first day of the last sale back in April, Larry Label Whore waited five hours! By the time I made it inside, the selection was already getting picked through. Due note: this is supposed to be an invite-only sale but in the past, security stopped checking a few hours after the sale started. Also, as in the past, expect to find mostly overstock from the last collection (spring/summer 2012).
