On Thursday evening, the selection had seriously dwindled at the Diptyque sample sale. I made a quick stop into the space on Fifth Avenue hoping to find a bottle of L’Ombre dans L’Eau for a friend.

A few notable sales taking place this week in New York City… and here’s a sampling:
Starting tomorrow, legendary French perfumer Diptyque Paris kicks off its sample sale in the Flatiron district. Here you’ll find the brand’s luxury scented candles as well as cologne, body care and gift items. We suggest you hit this sale early as merchandise tends to thin out on the first day. Here’s what it looked like last time when standard candles & room sprays were $30 (orig. $60), scented gels $22 and soap $8. The sale space back then was too small to handle the crowd of shoppers that organizers had to move the event to the current location.
