Saks Consolidation Sale Reviewed!

Saks-consolidation-sale

We did manage to check out the Saks Fifth Avenue consolidation sale. Here’s a report from Larry Label Whore who went on the first day looking for deals:

“It’s that time of year again: the Saks consolidation sale at the Fifth avenue flagship store! Sample sale season has been pretty dead lately so if you want to find some high-end designer duds for 70% off then head to Saks. The store has a wide array of designers in the sale including Dior, Calvin Klein Collection, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Viktor & Rolf, Phillip Lim, etc… Even at up to 70% off, you’re still going to have to shell out a lot for clothes.

Saks Fifth Avenue Post-Holiday Sale

 Saks Post Christmas Sale

Bargain hunters looking for post Christmas sales have quite a number of retailers to choose from… this season, Larry Label Whore found the best deals at Saks Fifth Avenue.  Yesterday (Wednesday), he headed straight for the flagship store in New York City during its morning deal rush.  Here’s his report:

Usually, the day after Christmas brings many sales, but this year the only major retailer having a good sale was Saks so I headed over to the main location on Fifth Avenue. Last year, the deal for men’s items was 70% off the original price (plus an extra 10% off if you use your Saks card). This year, the deal was 60% off the original price for men’s and 70% off women’s merchandise until Noon on Wednesday.

Slim Pickings at POSH Fashion Sell-A-Thon

Posh Fashion Sell-a-Thon

The annual charity POSH sale is taking place this weekend at Lighthouse International in Midtown. The sale offers pieces from a wide-range of designers, including Chanel, Dior, Escada, Ralph Lauren and more.  Artsy Anna stopped in yesterday afternoon.  Here’s her report:

I hate to knock a sale that goes to a good cause, but the POSH Fashion Sell-A-Thon was very disappointing. Given the designers listed on the sale poster, I thought the sale would include donations direct from designers. That didn’t seem to be the case.

MINA Sale: Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Lanvin and more…

At Mina, celebrity stylist Irene Albright has taken out her collection of designer clothing from her showroom and put them on sale in her East Village gallery boutique.  You’ll find Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Dior and more at 80% off retail.  The selection includes ready-to-wear, eveningwear, plenty of shoes and a limited selection of handbags.

Mina, 32A Cooper Sq., nr. 6th St.; Through 6/13 (11–8)

I popped in Thursday night and was surprised by the sheer quantity of clothing all on racks – mostly size medium dresses.  Although I did find a limited number of dresses by European designers (Alberta Ferretti, Chloe and Balenciaga) in size 36 or 38.  Those dresses were on sale for between $150 to $225. I got excited to see the large selection of shoes (Monolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Marni, Marc Jacobs, Walter Steiger and more all for $100 or less) only to be disappointed that they were mostly size 8 or higher.

A friend of mine, Bianca, stopped by Friday night.  She walked out of there empty handed because she couldn’t find anything she liked in her size.  This sale goes on until Saturday June 13th 11-8p.

The Mina boutique is also a gallery.  While you shop there, you can also see the photographs of NYC-based artists Sam Bassett and Bobby Grossman, whose works memorialize the constantly evolving cult of cool in New York City.
