Today, The NEWS Showroom opens its doors in Soho for its seasonal sample sale featuring Common Projects, Clu, Cheap Monday, Anniel and more… Yesterday, we stopped in and shot video of the friends & family preview. Check it out and see what shoppers have in store – lots of stuff!
As we mentioned in this week’s sale roundup… The News Showroom kicks off its holiday sample sale today. Fashionable Femme Jen attended yesterday’s preview. Every sale always has lots and lots of merchandise for both men and women. Jen gives us the lowdown on just how much stuff there is on offer:
The News showroom is moderately crowded this afternoon as I venture in to scour the sale. The good news is that there is no bag/coat check. There is a fitting room area curtained off near the middle of the space. There is also a TON of stuff for both sexes (though I mainly took note of the female items). Merchandise from Clu, Co, Common Projects, Eternal Child, Anniel, Destin and others is neatly sectioned, with a heavy dose of Cheap Monday mixed in between.
The News Showroom in Soho is hosting a two-day sample sale this weekend. The event is being held in support of Gay Pride and will coincide with events in New York City. You may recall the showroom’s massive sample sale last month. I’m told that this one will mainly feature Cheap Monday and Anniel footwear (popular for the label’s ballet flats). As you can see from the photos provided by sale organizers, there’s tons of merchandise.
The News sample sale kicks off today (Thursday) and it features a slew of designer labels offering lots of merchandise. You’ll find Cheap Monday, Clu, Sacai, R13, Co, White Mountaineering, Folk, Tim Coppens, Rhie, Anniel shoes, and Creative Growth for Everybody. Last night, I stopped into the showroom. In the video, staffer, Yuri, shows us what we can find at the sale… from Cheap Monday jeans ($10-$30) to Clu basic knits ($30), Anniel ballet flats ($99) and so much more!

Another busy week for sample sales… Here’s a few from our list:
What: The French kids label, Bonpoint, is hosting a sale offering up to 60% off its spring/summer collection. The sale includes tops, bottoms, sleepwear, outerwear, shoes, and accessories for newborns to pre-teens. When/Where: Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 W. 18th St. (bet. 6th & 7th Ave.), 5th Flr., May 16-17; Wed (9-7p), Thurs (9-3p).
What: High-end handmade eyewear brand, Alain Mikli, is hosting a sample sale (also includes a selection of specs from Starck Eyes and Vuarnet). Most styles will be discounted between $45 and $150 (originally $200-$800). Where/When: 242 Elizabeth St (b/w Prince & Houston Sts), May 16-19; Daily (9-6:45p).
What: The News multi-designer sample sale offers a slew of merchandise featuring deep discounts on Cheap Monday, Clu, Sacai, R13, Co, White Mountaineering, Folk, Tim Coppens, Rhie, Anniel shoes, and Creative Growth for Everybody. What: NYC based line, Loeffler Randall, is having a sample sale. This is your chance to outfit your feet with the the brand’s feminine downtown cool footwear at a discount. When/Where: 525 Broadway (b/w Broome & Spring St.), 4th Flr. May 17-19; Thurs & Fri (10-7p), Sat (10-5p).

The News showroom in Soho is hosting a sample sale that kicked off today. Here you’ll get some great deals (60-90 percent off retail) on hip brands Clu, Cheap Monday,Common Projects, R13, Sacai and more… Sample Sale Diva who’s a huge fan of these brands makes it a point to go to this sale. Here’s what she found:
This sale was awesome!! Great prices and no lines. Great Cheap Monday jeans, gloves, shoes. The average price is $50 to $80 (the sale prices are marked on tags on the garments). I got a sweater hoodie for $100 but most items are less. I liked that sweater due to the mix in fabrication – the front part was cashmere along with the hoodie and the back was made of silk. I got some great tights and sweater dresses that were quite unique.
