We managed to get images from the press preview of the Steven Alan spring closet cleaning party in Tribeca, which is taking place tomorrow (Sunday). As we mentioned in an earlier post, it’s an event put together by the retailer and the online fashion community, Material Wrld where shoppers will find pre-owned designer and vintage pieces.
The online consignment shop I-ELLA is hosting a spring sample sale where you’ll find pieces from Alexander McQueen, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, 3.1 Phillip Lim, vintage Chanel and Louis Vuitton and more. In the video, the woman behind the website pulls out some standout pieces…
Through the weekend, you can shop for a cause at the Housing Works thrift shop in Chelsea where you’ll find 250 designer brands sold at charitable prices. Last night, we attended the benefit reception at the Altman Building. Despite the storm, Fashion for Action’s co-chair Patricia Clarkson and other celebs turned out to give their support. We shot video of the event, which we’ll post later today…

Snow didn’t stop stylists, celebrities and shoppers from turning out for tonight’s Fashion for Action charity fundraiser and sale preview event. Shoppers sip on cocktails and munch on hors d’oeuvres while browsing discounted designer items. Money raised will go to help New Yorkers living with AIDS. As an added bonus, 20% of the proceeds will benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The annual charity POSH sale is taking place this weekend at Lighthouse International in Midtown. The sale offers pieces from a wide-range of designers, including Chanel, Dior, Escada, Ralph Lauren and more. Artsy Anna stopped in yesterday afternoon. Here’s her report:
I hate to knock a sale that goes to a good cause, but the POSH Fashion Sell-A-Thon was very disappointing. Given the designers listed on the sale poster, I thought the sale would include donations direct from designers. That didn’t seem to be the case.
I-ELLA – an up and coming online marketplace where members can buy, sell, borrow and swap – is hosting a sample sale this week. They’ll be offering 50-90 percent off the original prices of designer pieces by Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Prada and more… The site’s founder & CEO, Ella, took us through the racks to show us some of her favorite pieces…
