Another vintage shop worth mentioning, which I stumbled upon walking back from the Musée d’Orsay is the LaGallery on Rue de Lille in the 7th Arrondissement. It’s a tiny shop that carries a well-curated selection of designer handbags and accessories from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s.
There are plenty of vintage stores throughout Paris. I checked out a few of them. One proprietor, in the St Germain des Près area, who has two shops right next to each other is worth mentioning. For years, Catherine B has been scouring the world for vintage Hermes and Chanel.
Many of the department stores are now hosting their summer sale… We headed over to Barneys a few days ago to check out the women’s designer shoe department where sale shoes were organized on racks by size. The discount is now up to 60% off on select items.
We managed to get images from the press preview of the Steven Alan spring closet cleaning party in Tribeca, which is taking place tomorrow (Sunday). As we mentioned in an earlier post, it’s an event put together by the retailer and the online fashion community,Material Wrld where shoppers will find pre-owned designer and vintage pieces.
