The Dutch contemporary clothing and accessories brand, Scotch & Soda, kicks off the New Year with a sample sale in the Flatiron District. One of our readers (thanks, Sean!) checked out last night’s preview and gives us his impressions of the sale… plus, he managed to take some snapshots of the merchandise.
Here’s our tipster’s report:
“It seemed as though shoppers were either still nursing their New Year’s celebration hangovers or avoiding the gloomy weather but the opening night of the Scotch and Soda sample sale was a bit of a ghost town. The shoppers who were there seemed initially excited to have racks of clothing to peruse all to themselves. But the excitement seemed to dim as shoppers closely inspected the racks.
Neither the prices nor the selections were enough to make you feel like there were any GREAT deals to be found. But the well stocked quantity promised the discovery of at least a few decent basics. Wool scarves, some interesting men’s sweaters and women’s dresses and bomber jackets ( for both sexes) were plentiful.”
Sean was hoping to find a topcoat or messenger bag but saw none of those at the sale. If you want to see what other deals are on tap this week, click here to our Calendar Page.
