The Japanese-based brand of luxury weekend wear, pas de calais, starts its seasonal sample sale today in Soho. On offer are current and past season pieces from the brand’s women’s and men’s collection (Sage de Cret). Pas de Calais is known for its warm earthly colors, using handcrafted cotton, linen, and silk.

The sale is taking place in the basement of the brand’s Soho boutique.

Let’s start with the current spring season offerings which hang on several racks. Highlights include silk, cotton and linen tops tagged at $48-$80 (orig. $330-$410); there are also ethereal silk and chiffon dresses starting at just under $100 (orig. $590). Other standouts include an indigo long jacket for under $200 (orig. $560) and skirts starting at $40. There are also $20 T-shirts. Some of these pieces are samples (one-of-a-kind and size small). For other pieces (including past season overstock), there was a range of sizes.

For men, the Sage de Cret pieces hang on several racks – shirts, jackets, pants. Men’s shorts, knits and tees can be found in boxes in the middle of the space.

Also available are the brand’s handbags (the Holiday bags in silver and gold are now $300 , down from $770). Shoes are stacked in boxes on a table and range in price from $50 (flats and sandals) to boots at $100.

There is no dressing room, just a long mirror against a wall so dress appropriately just in case you need to try something on.
