Like many retailers, Opening Ceremony is offering reductions on some of its stock at its store on 35 Howard Street north of Canal. Fashionable Femme Jen happened to stop in earlier this week and gives us a review:

“On my way to an event at Maiyet Monday evening, I was quickly distracted by Sale sign in the window of Opening Ceremony. Having a hit or miss relationship with the store’s shoe and bag selection, I stop in for a quick browse. Inside, several section of “sale” items on the main and upper levels wet the appetite, while the main sale selection remains downstairs in the basement.

Store associates note that the sale will run through January, with additional markdowns taking place today. New styles will be added until the sale ends. Of note are a variety of shiny Opening Ceremony Tote bags for $26 (orig. $65), a selection of Niels Peeraer pieces, a mini bonsai bag for $234 (orig. $390) and a Kenzo May Flowers Tote bag for $318 (orig. $530) in white or black. Saw some Grayer Atelier totes and Kenzo backpacks. In terms of shoes–nothing to write home about unless you like velvet and “sporty chic” styles. On offer are a variety of Vans in different cuts and colors with varied pricing $35 (basic)/ $39 (slip on)/$46/$60 (Exclusive patterned styles), OC x Island Slippers Slip ons in a variety of colors are $40 (orig. $100), Frida Velvet Harness Over the knee boots are $149 (down from $595) and several styles of Mansur Gavriel slides–all just under $300.

Clothing discounts hover around the 40%-60% off with brands like Courrages, Opening Ceremony Re-editions, Kenzo, MM6, ALEXACHUNG, Ashley Williams, Acne Studios, T by Alexander Wang, Fenty by Rihanna, etc. worth a browse for fans of a “sporty chic” and slightly “alternative” look.

Fairly quiet at night with multiple fitting rooms available.” – Fashionable Femme Jen of Style Curated
