It’s a fairly quite week for sample sale… but one of our readers (thanks, A!) stopped into one in Midtown that offered a number of brands. Our tipster gives us his take. Here’s what he found:
“Walking on 34 street at the Empire State Building stumbled on Spyder, Juicy Couture, Joes, Aquaitalia, Frye, Rachel Zoe, Cole Haan, pop up sample / warehouse sale at the Empire State Building. It’s on the g round floor on 34 street near 5th Avenue.
Prices start at $5. For assorted winter hats, scarves are $10. Cashmere tops are $42. Average price point of Aquaitalia shoes for men and women is $140.
Sooo much stuff the second floor is men’s With Joe jeans, Kenneth Cole buy one get one free $9.00 tops
They were out of my size -12 in Frye Logan boots. The $400 boots were on sale for $113 but sales associate Anthony said a truck comes in Thursdays of unknown goods and to check back.
I did purchase a $400 Cole Haan leather duffel for $80. Various Scarves. My favorite score was the Kenneth Cole skinny Tuxedo Style pants featuring a denim stripe and $80 leather duffel.
My overall opinion is this is a warehouse sale, there are multiple sizes of current styles and old stock items. I was able to find few non branded items stamped with sample and sample production order information. I’ve been going back every other Thursday / Friday looking for those boots and filling orders from family members. ” – A.D.
