High-end New York design firm Loeffler Randall surprised everyone by having a VIP preview sale yesterday. When I stopped by after work, I found a lot of merchandise left and a crowd of women frantically looking through the shoes and clothes.  The space was small and packed with shoppers that trying anything on was a challenge.  I came looking for the popular Matilde Vachetta flat boot.  But the pricey price point stopped me from taking out my wallet.  Sandals and flats are selling for just under $200.  Boots were priced around $375.

Working only out of a small garden apartment in Brooklyn, Jessie Randall designed her first line in 2004. Her inspiration was to create a kind of shoe that she lusted for, but could not find in stores.  Her brand quickly grew a following — becoming popular with high-end retailers.

The sale takes place through Saturday May 9th at 525 Broadway, at Spring St., Ste. 202; W, T, F 10-7p, S 11-6p
