While the Marc Jacobs sample sale in Soho is getting a lot of attention (comments) on this site, there are other sales taking place in the City. This morning, we stopped into the Jill Stuart showroom in the Garment District. It was very calm apart from a couple of shoppers.
There appeared to be a lot more pieces from the main Jill Stuart collection at this sale which can be found on racks along the two walls in the space. It’s just the second day of the sale and it appears that they’ve already started marking down prices.
We spotted a number of pieces from the brand’s fall 2017 collection such as the long flowy black/white and black/white/red silk gowns ($190). The color palette for fall items was black, maroon and purple. We spotted dresses ($150), pants ($100), a couple of sweaters ($80) and several coats ($240). Along another wall were random pieces from the spring collection (same pricing, check out he pricelist in the gallery below).
There were also pieces from vintage Jill Stuart (prices as marked, most items are between $150-$200).
Better deals can be had with the diffusion line Jill by Jill Stuart which were scattered throughout the space on racks. Prices for these ranged from $55-$75.
As in the past, Morgan Lane lingerie and loungewear joined the sale. The intimates (panties and bras) were on display on a table. This season, there seemed to be more on offer. The nighties, PJs and other loungewear hung on racks nearby. Check out the pricelist in the gallery below.
For those wanting to try things on, there’s a makeshift communal dressing room in the showroom. Sale ends tomorrow (Friday). While additional discounts are being given on Jill Stuart main collection today, there could be further reductions on the other items tomorrow, the last day.
