The Diptyque sale will not disappoint those looking to snap up the label’s signature luxury scented candles. At Tuesday evening’s preview, there were plenty of lovely scents to be had.
I found lots of candles from the fruity, floral, herbal, spicy and woody collections. To name a few, I spotted the popular Tubereuse, Baies (berries), Figuier (fig tree), Feu de Bois (wood fire), Gardenia, Lilas, Freesia, Pomander, Santal (sandalwood), Vetyver and more.
The discount is about half off the retail price which translates to $30 for standard candles and minis at $14. A limited selection of the colored candles were priced at $45.
Towards the door and along the wall, were all the different fragrances (eaux de toilette, eaux de parfume, colognes and solid perfumes). Among the scents was 34 boulevard saint germain (starts $60/50ml and $45 for the candle) which celebrates Diptyque’s 50th anniversary and encapsulates the scent of its first boutique in Paris. Also available were the following: Philosykos, Oyedo, Do Son, L’Ombre dans L’Eau, Ofresia, Tam Dao and more starting at $40/50ml.
On a shelf in the middle of the room were incredible deals on testers (packaged inside generic boxes with signage that read “not for sale”). The products appeared to be new and unused. There were regular sized lotions for $11 and eaux de toilette for $27 (orig. $120).
On other tables were room sprays at $25, travel sets at $60, body lotions $29, precious oils $39, body scrub $34, hand soap & shower gels $19. With all the different products to pick from, you could get overwhelmed. Staffers were more than willing to help sort through the choices.
In addition, if you’re unfamiliar with the product, be careful with your olfactories. I noticed a few shoppers trying to smell different fragrances of cologne get dizzy after spraying too many times.
