The luxury retailer, Fivestory, has join the roster of end-of-season clearance and is having their sample sale this week. We checked out the preview. Here’s our review:
“We headed to the footwear first but was sadly disappointed with the selection. Shoes, sandals, flats and boots are in the back of the venue. As promised, there are lots of high-end designer footwear and at 80% off, there are great deals to be had, but the catch is that most of the shoes on offer are one-offs and sizing is really limited. We spotted Aquazzura, Pierre Hardy, Sergio Rossi, Del Toro, Charlotte Olympia, Paul Andrew, Ggiambattista Valli, Acne, Nicholas Kirkwood and more.
Apparel can be found on racks. There is 2 racks of menswear, 1 for children and the rest of the floor is womenswear.
Majority of apparel on offer is dresses and most of them retail for four figures. At 80% off retail, a Narciso Rodriguez floral dress is $499 from $2,495. A Timo Weiland long sleeve dress is $115 from $575. A Jason Wu combo silk drape sheath dress is $370 from $1,850. A black Mugler dress is $416 from $2,080, a Balmain print dress is $337 from $1,685, a Mary Katrantzou dress is now $495 was $2,475. There’s also bottoms; pants, skirts, and jeans. A Giambattista Valli pleated skirt is $393 from $1,965. Sweaters- an Alexander Lewis cashmere sweater is $220 from $1,100, jackets, tops- a Suno jacquard peplum top is $111.30 from $556.50, and swim. In the swim section, we only saw swim bottoms but sports bras were there as well.
There is a showcase of jewelry with rings, necklaces, and bracelets. Amongst the options I saw lots of styles from Chloe and a set of 3 floral rings from Dannijo.
There is a small shelving with accessories like handbags, scarves, hats, and Eddie Parker clutches.
At first, we thought that there was no houseware this year because we didn’t see any. They can be found near the register and it’s a smaller selection than at FiveStory’s last end-of-season sale. There are ties, sunglasses, hosiery, and plates.
We’re told there will be restocking, but doubt it’s across all the categories. Expect markdowns to occur before the sale ends on Sunday.” Mushkie of Holy in Mundane
