This week, 80 West 40th Street houses a number of brands that are hosting spring sample sales. One of them is Frances Valentine where sample shoes are just $50.
The label was started by Kate and Andy Spade in 2015 after walking away from Kate Spade 10 years ago. Now Kate Spade & Co is a publicly listed company.
As for Frances Valentine, it has a familiar look to the original brand. Think quirky, colorful Americana and feminine.
The showroom is decorated like a stylishly townhouse with furniture from the Spades’ former house in Long Island and walls full of art.
Footwear is scattered throughout the space which has comfy couches where you can sit to try on the shoes. Handbags are also on offer and can be found on tables.
If you happen to be a sample size (6 and 7), head for the $50 shoe rack where you’ll find lots of spring and summer styles. Otherwise, stock shoes are in boxes along the wall tagged at $150.
Handbags are scattered on tables. Highlights are the straw bags ($95) and color-blocking canvas bags ($75) both perfect for the season. If you’re a fan, head over there today. The sale ends at 6pm this evening.
