It’s the last day of the 2-day sample sale for Frances Valentine. It’s taking place at the label’s Showroom near Bryan Park (80 W. 40th St).

We quickly stopped in before work this morning. We did feel a bit weird coming into this showroom, considering the brand’s founder and designer, Kate Spade, committed suicide back in June of this year. One of her designers was in the room and I mentioned it to her who agreed how strange it has been since Kate is no longer there.

As for the sale, there’s still lots of merchandise, including bags, small leather accessories and footwear. Pricing has been marked down on many items and there are still steals to be had starting at $25.

Leather handbags were $125 and $150. The canvas bucket bags, which we’re fans of, are $75 and $95. There are also wallets and cosmetic bags for under $50 as well as bracelet stacks ($45).

The footwear are along one side of the sunny space – some shoes (size 7 and 9) are just $50 and others like leopard print ankle booties which are on trend right now are $125.

As we mentioned, today is the last day. Doors close at 6pm.
