With spring in full swing, I stopped into Century 21′s downtown store to check out their footwear offerings… Recently, I haven’t been impressed with the store’s selection (I’ve been really disappointed with the merchandise). But, I thought, what the heck. Let’s see what we can find.
Surprisingly, they had what appeared to be a pretty good selection of shoes. I focused on European designers on the lower level. Here’s a list of labels I spotted: Balenciaga, Chloé (pictured above), Casadei, Dries van Noten, Jil Sander, Marni, Martin Margiela, Theyskens Theory, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Manolo Blahnik, Stella McCartney and more… Pricing was about 50-percent (some more) of the retail price. Examples of pricing include cute Chloé flats for $220 (was $500), a darling kitten-heel peep-toe Dries van Noten sandal for $200 (was $600), Marni platform sandals for around $250, Margiela sandals for $200. As many of us know, sizing is spotty at Century 21 and it’s all hit or miss. But if you’re in the neighborhood and looking to update your spring footwear, it’s worth a quick look.

Do you know how much the Chloe sandals are (2nd photo from the bottom)? thanks!
Hi Ikenani – I believe the Chloe sandals were $239. The only problem was the size – depending on your foot, they only had larger sizes (39, 40) in that style. I also liked them but unfortunately they didn’t have a 37.
hey there! what brand flats are those in the last picture? And how much are they? Also, let me know if you remember the size
Hey Kawai – those flats are Theyskens Theory and, from what I can recall, they were around $200. There actually were a pretty good range of sizes.
Any clue if they have any RTW by Theysken’s Theory?
I didn’t look at clothing, just shoes.
I really despise this store lately.
The security there treats everyone like a prospective thief. Loss prevention guards as dressing room attendants is perverse. Plus the beepers as you leave the store always go off. You have to show your receipt as you are eyed up and Down by a 19 yrold wannabee police officer. I have been a loyal customer for 15 years but refuse to be treated this way plus they cater to euro trays tourists with substandard clothes ripped disheveled 3 seasons past..plus cortlandt doesn’t get stuff anymore it all goes to uws
Any chance you remember what styles of Margiela were offered? / How much?
Hi KL – There were only several styles of Margiela sandals, one is pictured above (the white sandals under the yellow Marc by Marc Jacobs) was around $240 and another (the last photo which I just added) flat sandals with the signature toe cutout is $200.
