a medium shot of rack of shoes

Periodically DSW will host a designer shoe sale. We heard about one taking place at the Herald Square store on West 34th Street. Larry Label Whore happened to be in the neighborhood so he checked it out.

“All of my friends know not to get between me and a good high-end pair of shoes, especially at prices of less than $100!

I’m always interested in the Luxe shoes at DSW Warehouse and recently heard they were lowering the prices on some of the shoes. I called the 34th Street location and to my surprise they told me starting Friday they’d dropped the prices on a lot of the styles to just $99.95 so I rushed down there to see what they had.

Selection of Men’s Shoes

I, of course, first checked out the men’s selection on the 4th floor, but it was pretty dismal. They only had one rack with a few different styles. I found there yellow Gucci ankle-boots, red Gucci loafers, Mezlan lace-up oxfords, Ted Baker lace-ups, and Ralph Lauren ankle-boots with side buckles. They all looked ugly to me except for the Ralph Lauren boots. I tried them on, but they had a weird fit to them so it didn’t surprise me at all they were discounted. The men’s rack was a totally bust!

More Choices for Women

I then went to the women’s selection on the 2nd floor and I was surprised by the range of designers and selection of the shoes. There were four racks with various high-end designers. The racks were mostly Giuseppe Zanotti shoes with some styles being major steals. I bought a couple of Zanotti pairs for my mom that included black suede booties with Swarovski crystals on the side (originally $1300) and beautiful blue-green patent leather pumps. Other Zanotti styles that were there were black and cream Satin pumps with crystals on the front and some strappy heels.

For our readers, I looked through the other selection of shoes and found more high-end styles like Gucci flats, Calvin Klein Collection knee-high leather boots, Herve Leger strappy heels, Bottega Veneta pink and brown pumps (only available in size 34), Bally kitten heels, and Sergio Rossi patent leather pumps.

When I got home I checked the DSW website and found some amazing shoes at amazing prices. One that really caught my eye was a women’s Giuseppe Zanotti embelished suede booties originally $1600 down to $199.94: http://tinyurl.com/lrovjeg. For the men there is a nice selection of shoes and sneakers from Tod’s, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana ranging from $99.94-$199.94. An important note: sizing at this point is very limited.

If you’re looking to see the shoes in person, head to the 34th Street location (near Penn Station) because I was told that’s the only one doing the $99.95 Luxe shoe deal. The great thing about the price is you don’t have to pay tax because it is less than $110! However, for a wider selection of shoes including more styles, high-end designers, and sizes stick with the DSW website. Happy Shoe Hunting!”
