New York-based designer Demy Lee makes understated and simple basics that are classic with a contemporary twist. Her label, Demylee is hosting a sample sale which opens to the public today (Tuesday) at the label’s showroom in the far westend of Chelsea. We stopped by for yesterday’s preview and found great deals on spring/summer merchandise.

The sale items are neatly organized on one side of the room. Cashmere pieces (all $60) on separate racks – many of which are light-weight and colorful. There are cotton dresses (lots of striped combos in a variety of styles) which are perfect for the warming trend are just $25, cotton knit sweaters are $40. Also available are bargain boxes situated on a table in the middle of the room where you’ll find tees for just $15 and tanks for $10. In addition, there are light-weight cotton shirts and dresses from $40 and $60. On one rack is a small selection of cashmere and cotton knits/sweaters for men. The items are color-coded starting at $10 and going up to $60.

An important note: most of the women’s items are a size small. Although, there is a run of sizes for some styles. For men, sizing is primarily a medium.
