The Diane Von Furstenberg summer sample sale kicks off today. I happened to stop by yesterday afternoon during the friends & family preview. Quite a mob scene inside with a line that snaked around the back area for the dressing room and another wait for the cash registers. The narrow aisles between the racks were packed, making it difficult to look for anything. As with previous sales, there’s stacks of merchandise. You’ll find an abundance of DVF’s signature wrap dresses in solids and graphic floral prints ($150). Also on offer are summer silk chiffon dresses and cotton shirt dresses ($125); cotton and silk blouses in solids and floral prints are $80 as are skirts and pants. Cocktail dresses are $275 and coats $350. I spotted the “Justin” wrap dress (originally $325), the “Vern” wrap dress (originally $375) and the “Evrin” wrap dress (originally $465).
 Mara Hoffman hosts her sample sale A fellow blogger who’s site is called Rad Shopping stopped into the Mara Hoffman sale today in SoHo where items are up to 80 percent off. I met Seng at a sale last summer and we’ve run into each other at other sales. She knew I couldn’t make it to this one so she allowed me to share her findings with you. She met the designer who was apparently very helpful rearranging stock and answering questions. Seng reports a fairly busy sale and plenty of merchandise:
Seng picked up a few items, including a silk tank for $10, a summery skirt for $50 and a dress for $75. She also snagged two bikinis. Sale ends Sunday. More info and photos after the jump
I was just thinking the other day how I needed to stock up on sleepwear. So getting the notice about the Eberjey sample sale was perfect timing. I’ve always been able to find some lovely pieces (camis, briefs and PJs) at this sale. Normally, it takes place at the Shoreham Hotel on W.55th Street. This time, the sale is being held at the J Rosen Showroom in the Garment District. The selection doesn’t appear to be as abundant as previous sales. But there is still plenty to be had at 50 to 70 percent off the retail price. Chemises are $25, camis $20, pajama sets $40, lounge pants $20, robes are $30, briefs, shorts and thongs are $15. Adult swimsuits are $40 and kids are $20. I picked up a cute cotton pajama set in red and white perfect for the summer months for $40. Also on offer are Vix and Lisa Curran swimwear from $65 to $125. Havaianas flip flops are $10 and sandals (size 7) are $30. There’s also a mix of straw bags – a medium sized bag with a flower applique and red leather handles going for $30 caught my eye. I decided to skip Wednesday’s monster Hermès line that snaked around the block in Chelsea. Many shoppers had to wait two-and-a-half hours to get in, as Racked reported. Thursday after work was a breeze. There was a short line outside the Metropolitan Pavilion.
