While many of us are waiting for the Barneys Warehouse Sale, this weekend’s end-of-season sale being held at the boutiques, Project No. 8 and No. 8b, is well worth the trip. I checked out the goods yesterday and found some fabulous deals. The women’s shop, Project No. 8, [...]
If you’re tying the knot… or just looking for bling at a bargain, you should check out the once-a-year jewelry sale at Michael C. Fina (a retailer of engagement & wedding rings and fine jewelry). Artsy Anna, who will be taking the plunge in a few months, checked out the sale, looking for wedding bands.
As Sample Sally readers know, I go to my fair share of sales. But today was a little more personal for me – as I’m getting married this fall. I already have an engagement ring but I walked into the sale today looking for wedding bands for my fiancé and for me.
With so much sparkle everyhere in sight it was hard to know where to start but Stefanie (Dir. of Sales) and Teegan (PR Coordinator) were an absolute delight and extraordinarily helpful in my search.
The sale includes men’s and women’s engagement ring mountings and bands at 15-70% off from brands like Michael B., JB Star, and others too exclusive to mention. Most pieces are sample size (6 for women and 9-11 for men) but can be resized for an additional fee. Once you decide on a setting there’s a diamond dealer at the ready to help you pick the perfect stone. Also of note, the store no longer carries watches but there’s a full display case of men’s timepieces at 60% off retail prices.
While there are some stunning styles all around, I still haven’t made a final decision for myself. I tried on some beautiful diamond bands ranging from $1,500-$11,000 so I may have to come back tomorrow once I have a chance to think it over!

The New York based jewelry label, Bing Bang, is hosting a sample sale at its offices near Chinatown. Designed by Anna Sheffield, each piece of Bing Bang jewelry is handmade in NYC. The sale offers 35 to 75 percent off retail prices.
I’m a great fan of Sheffield’s elongated egg-shaped [...]
The elevator wasn’t working when I arrived at the Hayden-Harnett and the Collective Showroom sample sale Tuesday evening. I was told that the elevator stops operating after a certain hour at the end of the day. I ended up having to walk up five flights to check out the goods. Not such a fun [...]
I can spend hours at a flea market, looking for treasures. The Brooklyn Flea is one of my favorite places to find the most interesting things at affordable prices. The market draws about 200 vendors, selling a mix of new and used goods. You’ll find an assortment of [...]

As the saying goes – diamonds are a girl’s best friend. But pearls are probably the next best thing, especially if the strands are by Mikimoto. Through tomorrow, the label is hosting a sale at its showroom on Fifth Avenue. One of our favorite readers, Deme, made it to [...]

Artsy Anna also made her way to the L.A. based label Linea Pelle Collection one-day sale. Here you’ll get up to 75 percent off soft-washed, Italian leather bags, belts, and other accessories.
All merchandise for this sale is out on the floor so they won’t be restocking this afternoon. Dylan bags start at $150 and Morgan styles are $195 and up. Belts range from $38 for skinny studded styles up to $70 for wider ones. Wallets are $65. There was a very crowded small accessories table near the register where prices for key chains and bracelets were $10-$38. I considered a small cross body bag for $75 but chickened out last minute–I’ve spent way too much this week and I haven’t hit Vena Cava yet!
Where/When: 362 Fifth Ave., b/t 34th & 35th Sts., ste. 901. June 17th ONLY. Thurs (10-6 p.m).

Artsy Anna is having a busy week sample sale shopping… Today, she continues her hunt for deals. One of the sales she managed to hit is the Giles & Brother by Philip Crangi in Midtown. She reports a fully stocked sale with plenty of pieces to choose from:
If you work in midtown and you haven’t taken your lunch break today, I suggest you do so at once! It’s a veritable accessories bonanza surrounding Herald Square. My first stop today was the Giles & Brother sale in their W 29th St. showroom. As Sample Sally mentioned earlier, the sale ends today but is fully stocked. Prices range from $30-$140 and everywhere in between. There’s also a generous-sized bargain bin with tons of bracelets going for $10.
Jewelry is up to 75 percent off retail prices. There’s still a few hours left of the sale. If you can, you should try to get over there and check out the goods. Where/When: 147 W. 29th St., nr. Sixth Ave., second fl. (212-643-0026); Thru June 17th (11–6:30).

Artsy Anna also made her way to the Ben-Amun sample sale in the Garment District yesterday. She’s a fan of the jewelry line. From her report, she was not alone. According to Anna, the space was crowded with shoppers snapping up deals.
I have a small but growing collection of Ben-Amun pieces purchased over [...]
A tipster just left the Rachel Leigh jewelry sale in the Garment District and emailed us her findings. While there’s only a couple of hours left until the sale ends today, it may be worth the trip. Here’s what she reports:
A lovely staffer told me the sale was mobbed yesterday but has [...]
