Walking into the Renegade Craft Fair in Williamsburg this Saturday afternoon, I spotted a little boy playing with a blow up Spider-man doll. He was so engaged with the act that instinct made me take out my camera and start snapping photos. I suddenly realized that his father (who happened to be close by) is Watchmenstar Patrick Wilson. He also starred opposite Kate [...]
I stopped by after work today to check out the Lauren Moffatt sample sale to find a pleasant atmosphere - no crowds here and the employees were very helpful. On offer were racks of spring/summer 2009 fun and feminine dresses ($110-$160), tops are $80 and skirts $60. A preview sale took place yesterday but there's still lots of merchandise left in pastel colors and[...]
For all those Loub fans... a rare event! Christian Louboutin holds a sample sale. Monday 5/18, the members of the press were invited to see the goods a day before the sale started. Apparently, the wait was at least 2-hours for some editors. The sale opens to friends & family Tuesday 5/19, Wednesday 5/20 from 9am to 5pm, and Thursday 5/21 from 9am to 1pm. On[...]

I was surprised by the amount of merchandise - leather, microfiber and straw handbags in all sorts of colors. Loads of spring/summer footwear - most shoes were on sale for under $150 and sa[...]
I found this weekend's Escada sale at Chelsea's Metropolitan Pavilion pretty much a waste of time. The offerings of the uber prestigious brand are frumpy - not fabulous. I've attended other Escada sales where there were racks of elegant and tasteful clothing. This one was a letdown - one of the worst sales I have ever been to. What a shame that the large space[...]
The reports about the Steven Alan sale in Tribeca are good. The crowd is apparently smaller and the pricing better this time around. Racked reports pricing for the designer's own line: women's short-sleeved shirts are going for $48, long-sleeved for $58. Women's jackets from $50 to $125, cotton dresses are $99, and skirts and shorts are $50 to $70. The menswear[...]
