While many of the comments on this blog have been negative about this season’s Barneys Warehouse Sale, some of you may have been waiting for further discounts… For those of you hoping to find deals here, the price slashing has begun. Check out the latest list of additional markdowns…
Yesterday, I happen to be in Williamsburg so I made a quick stop into the boutique, Jumelle, on Bedford Avenue. Through tomorrow (Sunday), the shop is holding its annual sample sale. While this is called a “sample sale”… the offerings are mostly production pieces (overstock). Regardless of that fact, there were some great finds.
 While I didn’t make it downstairs to the men’s section of the Barneys Warehouse Sale… one of our readers did. Avid shopper, Larry The Label (you may recall his dispatch from the Ferragamo sale debacle back in November) checked out the offerings for the gents yesterday… Larry had mixed feelings about the sale:
As I mentioned in my earlier post, this season’s Barneys Warehouse Sale is a letdown! The selection of goods (I only had a chance to look at women’s stuff) is dwarfed compared to previous sales. In particular, designer merchandise. There really wasn’t much of the good stuff to be had… Let’s start with the footwear since that’s always been the popular draw at these sales. Let me cut to the chase… This is one of the worst Barneys Warehouse Sale I’ve ever been to… In all the years I’ve been going to this sale, this one, for me, was awful in terms of selection. One good thing tho, there was no line at 8:30 this morning. Anyone who was in line earlier had already made their way inside where it was frantic but not insane.

Just a reminder… (and I’m sure many of you don’t need reminding) that the Barneys Warehouse Sale is back. The highly-anticipated event starts this Thursday (Feb 16th) in Chelsea. The funky NYC footwear label, Dusica Dusica is hosting a blowout sale, offering final markdowns at 70-percent off the original retail price for its entire fall/winter collection.
The sale at the Manolo Blahnik boutique on West 54th Street just got better this week. But with the final markdowns also come the crowds… A short line had formed outside the shop an hour before closing on Monday. Once inside, it was madness. Shoes and boxes all over the floor. Women were frantically looking for something in their size. And sales associates trying to keep up!
